The 20th China Cultural Tourism Global Forum will be held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province from March 26 to 28, 2020. This was announced at a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday by Li Fugen, spokesperson for the organizing committee of the forum and vice president of China.org.cn.

Themed "Move by Trends," the forum next year aims to build platforms for communication and cooperation among entrepreneurs in the real estate, hotel and tourism industries, so as to forge closer ties between investment and financing in these sectors.

Statistics show that consumer spending in China’s cultural tourism industry reached 2.7 trillion yuan in 2018. With a double-digit compound growth rate over the past five years, this figure is expected to exceed 10 trillion yuan in the near future.

According to the press conference, the two-day forum will focus on issues such as asset management, brand development, supply and procurement as well as their impact on the hotel and tourism industry under the current trends in global trade.

A ranking list of hotel management companies and report on global cultural tourism trends are expected to be released during this event. The China Golden Horse Award, the highest honor in China’s hotel industry, will also be released during the forum.

A world hotel design alliance and Asia Pacific hotel and real estate procurement collaboration committee will also be established during the forum. Their founding is based on the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits. The formation of these new groups is expected to help in the renewal of global efforts to make cultural tourism more open, inclusive, balanced and beneficial to all, so as to further implement the UN 2030 Agenda.

In addition, the 2020 China Hotel Supply-side Industry Chain Fair and a world hotel design forum are scheduled to coincide with the forum. These events seek to empower cultural tourism with supply-side structural reform practices and cutting-edge design ideas.
