Happy Valley, Beijing's popular theme park, kicked off its month-long Halloween-themed Mask & Candy Festival 2020 on Saturday.

The festival features a Halloween masquerade, parades, haunted houses, ghosts, ghouls, King Kong, zombies, pumpkin decorations, an augmented reality immersive game zone, and giant mechanical monsters of Vermilion Bird and White Tiger from the ancient Chinese classic "Shan Hai Jing".

According to the park, the 37-day Halloween-carnival has seven themed zones, eight themed events and nearly 20 themed shows. There are Halloween merchandise and food on offer and opportunities to trick or treat. Visitors are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes.

In China, Halloween is not an important event for Chinese people, but young urban people love to experience Western fun and exotic flavors with their expatriate friends. Themed parks, including Happy Valley, Disneyland, and Chimelong Tourist Resort, are usually the best places to visit during the thrilling month.
