A gala in the Beijing Expo park raised the curtain on activities celebrating the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival in northwestern Beijing's Yanqing district on September 22.

At the gala, officials from Yanqing revealed various activities for the festival, such as sightseeing, food tasting and rural experience. Six boutique tourist routes were also set for the upcoming National Day holiday which lasts from Oct. 1-7, whereby tourists could enjoy the fun of fruit and vegetable picking, vanilla-themed travel, winter Olympic tour, and the Great Wall culture and leisure tour.

In addition to the gala show, farmers in Yanqing displayed their agricultural products featuring organic milk, organic vegetables, volatile oil and chrysanthemum tea in the expo park, the venue of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition.

The expo park also held a photo exhibition highlighting the agricultural achievement of the 15 towns and villages in Yanqing.

The Chinese farmers' harvest festival, the fourth one since its launch, falls on the Autumn Equinox, or Sept. 23 this year. The festival reflects the high priority China places on agriculture, rural areas and rural people, as well as its determination to see a thriving agricultural industry, beautiful countryside and well-off farmers.
