A trip to Yanqing in golden autumn

Yanqing, a Beijing's suburban district blessed with unique natural environment, is ready to greet tourists in the season of golden autumn. Three series of cultural tourism products have been released recently by local culture and tourism bureau, which included top 10 self-drive tours, instagrammable spots, and hotel promotional tourism products.

The newly released top 10 self-drive tours featured different themed routes such as riding in the sea of flowers, appreciating the read leaves, relaxing in hot springs, picking apples in the orchards and savoring local cuisines. While enjoying the autumn scenery in Yanqing, visitors could find peace and pursue tranquil life at the cozy homestays in the countryside.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, suburban Beijing has become the top choice for Beijing travelers. Yanqing has thus witnessed a robust growth in in its tourism and many local spots have become Instagram-worthy, including the Wild Duck Lake National Wetland Park, the Jiuyan Watchtower, or the Nine Eyes Tower, the largest-scale watchtower of the ancient Great Wall, and Beijing Expo Park.

High-end hotels in Yanqing including Beijing Marriott Hotel Yanqing and Doubletree by Hilton Beijing have also announced many promotional products for tourists in Yanqing.

Autumn in Yanqing is colorful, with red apples in the orchards, purple and yellow grapes in the gardens, colored leaves dyed in layers, and crystal-clear water in rivers and streams. Yanqing is also a cluster of well-known scenic spots including the Great Wall, the Guyaju (Ancient Cliff House), Longqing Gorge and Yudu Mountain. 

Travel tip: How do I get to Yanqing?

It is a 1.5-hour drive from downtown Beijing, but you can also take public transportation: take the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway Yanqing branch line at Qinghe station or Take Bus 919 at Beijing's Deshengmen Stop and get off at Yanqing.
