With an exhibition area of 200,000 square meters, the lantern festival displays nearly 1,000 ice and snow sculptures. As the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games is around the corner, the ice lanterns, ice sculptures and snow sculptures this year highlight the elements of the Winter Olympics, with the mascots of the Beijing 2022, Bing Dwen Dwen and Shuey Rhon Rhon meeting with tourists in the shape of ice sculptures.

As a time-honored brand, the ice lantern festival showcases art, wisdom and creativity through its magnificent snow sculptures, glittering and translucent ice lanterns and modern LED light show.

In addition to the ice lanterns, visitor could also enjoy DIY ice sculpture, ice hockey and snow and ice slides at the scenic spot.

Yanqing's ice lantern festival draws visitors from near and far and adds a festive beauty to the Chinese Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival — the most important festival of the Chinese calendar. This year the Spring Festival falls on February 1, the beginning of the Year of the Tiger.

Besides the ice lantern show, Yanqing has many more to offer to the tourists, including the Badaling and Wanke Shijinglong ski resorts and ice and snow carnivals at the Beijing Expo Park.
