Han Tang Yuefu Ensemble from Taiwan will give an Imperial-Palace performance of their work Luo Shen Fu: The Tale of the Luo River Goddess, at the Imperial Supremacy Hall (Huangji Dian) of the Forbidden City on Saturday.

Created by talents from China, France and Germany, this Nanguan (a traditional musical genre originating in East China's Fujian province) dance and musical work integrates classical literature, music and dance, and cutting-edge technology.

Co-directed by French director Lukas Hemleband and Han Tang Yuefu Ensemble's artistic director Chen Mei-o, Luo Shen Fu: The Tale of the Luo River Goddess, premiered in 2006 and has been performed in a number of prestigious venues such as the Theater de la Ville in Paris.

After the performance at the Forbidden City, the Palace Museum, the Chinese National Academy of Arts and the Han Tang Yuefu Ensemble will organize a symposium of "Luo Shen Fu - The Tale of the Luo River Goddess: poetry, calligraphy, painting, music and dance" on Oct 19 and 20.
