Liu Dawei's paintings are displayed in a show called Epics and Pastorals. Some of his paintings depict China's national heroes and others depict lyrical scenes of country life among minority ethnic groups in Western China. The 64-year-old artist has won many national awards with his water-ink paintings.

Artist Huang He, named after the Yellow River, is having a solo exhibition of his paintings and sculptures.
"His paintings exhibit fierce power. The passionate effect alone is very moving. You see flying lines, heavy color blocks and strong emotions," says one critic, Liang Mingcheng.

Three artists are staging a joint exhibition, Private Thought: Liu Chunjie who does satirical wood prints, Zheng Xuewu who plays freely with visual elements in his prints, and Xie Hongjun, who creates realistic oil paintings that portray the social reality of the 1960s and 1970s.
