Visitors stand at the new green trash can in surprise. A new kind of trash can equipped with pneumatic system appeared in Shanghai World Expo site on Wednesday, January 20, 2010.

A fresh green trash can equipped with air-pump delivery system at the bottom is now in use at the World Expo in Shanghai, just 100 days before the expo's opening.

The report said after the trash is thrown away, the air-pump system will automatically deliver it to the garbage disposal center and the whole recycling process is controlled by computer.

Meanwhile, no people would bother to come into contact with garbage since the garbage delivery is airtight from beginning to the end. Besides, the entire recycling process at the World Expo venue needs only three operators.

The report added that the new trash can, which is at the highest level of technology in Asia and costs 60 million yuan, will be first employed in the large-scale venues and municipal roads.

The green trash can has two openings including "Recyclable" and "Non-recyclable".
