The Shanghai "Internet of Things" Center opened in Shanghai's Jiading District March 2.

"Internet of Things" means that all items are connected to the Internet through devices such as radio frequency identification devices to achieve intelligent identification and management. It is recognized as the third wave in information industry since the introduction of computers and the Internet, and it is also regarded as the next trillion dollar information industry following the Internet.

It is reported that in the upcoming Shanghai World Expo, "Internet of Things" technology will be widely used to sell tickets and public transportation systems.

Shanghai will create the most competitive "Internet of Things" technology research base in China which will have international influence, and use it as an example to promote the industrialization of the "Internet of Things" and its relevant products and services.
