The first issue of Expo Weekly, the only national magazine of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, will hit newsstands April 8.

The issue includes a foreword by Wang Qishan, vice premier of the State Council and chairman of the Expo's Organizing Committee, and an introduction by Yu Zhengsheng, Shanghai's Party secretary and director of the Expo's Executive Committee.

A collaboration between China International Publishing Group, China's largest foreign publishing agency, and the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, Expo Weekly will have 24 issues from April to December in Chinese, English and Japanese. It will focus on how the Expo's theme, "Better City, Better Life" is reflected at the Expo, the Expo's progress, and highlights from the Expo. Every issue will also include visitor information and general Expo trivia.

The magazine will be available for 6 yuan at the Expo park, more than 1,000 hotels, airports, newsstands in cities across China, embassies and chambers of commerce. It will also be distributed through CIPG's global channel to surrounding countries and regions. The multilingual e-magazine of Expo Weekly will be released synchronously.
