Pavilion Features

With actors attired in palace garb and Olympic sportswear, Beijing will hold a dress parade around the Expo site during the Beijing Week, from May 4 to 8. Charming Beijing will be represented by dramatic changes instead of single and static forms. Around 200 actors will dress in different styles of clothes that can be seen at 16 famous venues of the city, including the Forbidden City and the Beijing National Stadium, or Bird's Nest and Water Cube. An opening ceremony for the Beijing Week in front of the joint provincial pavilion on the morning of May 4 will be "as exciting as the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. During that week, Beijing craftsmen will perform folk arts, including paper-cutting and clay sculpture, around the Expo site. Meanwhile, people will appreciate the film named "Charming Capital" by director Zhang Yimou, introducing Beijing's attractions, then show the competitiive strength of Beijing.
