A group of local students received a special award at the expo yesterday....which could help them raise money to protect endangered fish. The students from Jiangyin High School were honored at the Rotterdam pavilion.

They say they hope the award will help them get corporate sponsorship to pay for their fish-saving plan. The students plan to consult experts on how to protect endangered fish species. They will then post ideas online and hold promotional activities at their school and across the city. The project is only expected to cost around 720 yuan. Organizers from a Dutch NGO and a Chinese student organization called their plan the best of more than 60 proposals from high school students in 4 Chinese cities.
