Fame continues to increase

The famous oil painting, The Drunken Beauty, not only has a well-established reputation in fine art circles, but has also become a popular masterpieces among its contemporaries.

The year 2007 saw the successful publication of the picture album, Crowned, at APEC in Hong Kong. As the leading work of the album, The Drunken Beauty made a big splash in more than 200 countries and 1,700 cultural institutions around the world thanks to the promotion of Hong Kong Wenhui Publishing.

In 2008, the embroidery work of The Drunken Beauty was presented to delegates from all over the world as a special gift selected by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad and became one of the most treasured souvenirs of the delegates.

Now, with the Expo 2010 in Shanghai, The Drunken Beauty has again been selected as the only oil painting on official Expo postcards. As soon as the postcards came out, they became the favorite Expo gift among both locals and expats, and sales have so far reached 2 million.

The painting also has a series of derivative products, ranging from silk scarves, folded fans and china to embroideries, which have made the painting a popular choice among people selecting gifts for friends and loved ones.

Meanwhile, the national English-language newspaper, China Daily has a weekly column in its Expo publication, Exposure, on The Drunken Beauty.
