Pleasant autumn weather will be replaced by rainy, overcast skies over the next few days, weathermen said on October 10.

The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said the weather from Monday to Wednesday should be rainy and overcast due to the twin effects of a cold front and a warm, wet airstream flow.

But the bureau said the rainfall should not be heavy.

"The rain should be intermittent in parts of the city, which should not cause much inconvenience to locals," the bureau said on its website.

With the cold front, the city's temperatures should also decrease gradually during the week, with the minimum set to drop to 15 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

Today is forecast to be overcast and rainy with temperatures ranging from a low of 18 degrees to a high of 25.

Tomorrow should be overcast with showers in part of the city. Temperatures should drop a little, between a low of 18 degrees and a high of 23.

Temperatures are set to drop lower this weekend, the bureau advised locals.
