The Expo organizer on October 20 suggested people avoid visiting at weekends, the last days that standard tickets holders will be able to attend, because another huge number of visitors similar to last weekend's record crowds was expected.

More than one million people visited the Expo site last Saturday, breaking the record for daily attendance at a World Expo. On Sunday, another 744,900 visitors entered the site, the second biggest record at the Shanghai Expo.

Standard tickets holders can enter the site in the last week by paying an additional 40 yuan (US$6). They can also exchange a standard ticket for two night tickets during the week.

Organizers will halt ticket sales and exchanges on October 30 and 31, the last two days of the Expo.

Previous Expos have seen huge crowds in the last two weeks as many pavilions offered discounts on their products.

Similar offers will be available at the Shanghai Expo.
