The Expo organizers advised people to avoid coming on Saturday and Sunday as huge crowds are expected at this weekend.

Since the last week of World Expo, October 25 to 31, requires peak day tickets, this weekend will be the last chance for visitors to use their standard day tickets.

As the Expo is coming to an end, a vast number of visitors are expected to throng the venues, based on the past experience of World Expo, the organizers said.

A total of 1.03 million people flooded to the site last Saturday, breaking the day-volume record of 835,832 set by Expo Osaka in 1970.

Admission for the last week will cost 200 yuan (US$29.33), 40 yuan more than a standard day ticket.

The organizers will halt ticket sales and exchange service on the last two days of the world fair, namely October 30 and 31, due to a large number of important events.

A 160-yuan (US$24) standard day ticket can be changed for two night tickets (90 yuan each) at the gates from 4pm to 8:50pm until October 29.

Visitors can buy peak day tickets at the gates or at the outlets of five Expo ticketing agents – China Mobile, China Telecom, Bank of Communications, China Post, and Shanghai Brilliance Group.
