Commissioner General for Colombia at the World Expo 2010 Gustavo Gaviria said on Tuesday that more than 3 million people had visited Colombia's pavilion in the Shanghai World Expo 2010.

Gaviria told Colombian radio station RCN that "The proposal of the Colombian pavilion is very simple, but very meaningful: We show them what is the best of our country, which is our people."

"The pavilion is unique in the Expo. It has music all the time outside. We teach them Spanish. We teach them to say 'hello, thanks, cutie'," Gaviria said.

He said that his country hoped more Chinese people would travel to Colombia.

Gaviria said each year about 1.5 million people visit Colombia, but in the Shanghai Expo "in six months we have received 3 million people."

The Shanghai Expo 2010 was inaugurated in May and it has received more than 70 million visitors.
