Singapore Airlines will fly Airbus A380 on Singapore-Tokyo route from May 20, making Tokyo the third commercial destination for the world's largest passenger jet from the country, the carrier said Wednesday.

The carrier will start with a specially scheduled first flight to coincide with Tokyo Narita Airport's 30th anniversary celebrations. Thereafter, it will commence daily return flights to Narita on the A380.

SIA, Singapore's flag airline, is the world's first airline to fly A380, which launched commercial service between Singapore and Sydney on Oct. 25 last year.

The carrier said earlier on Wednesday that it has taken delivery of its third A380, which will start flying to London on March 18.

The Airline said it has firm orders for another 16 A380s and options on six more.
