HK airlines to increase surcharges from Aug 1

Nine Hong Kong airlines including Cathay Pacific Airways have approval for additional surcharges from August 1 this year, and another 35 airlines in the region have also obtained the approval from the Civil Aviation Department Hong Kong to extend or add the surcharges.

For short routes, except for All Nippon Airways who are maintaining the original HKD171, all other airlines will increase their surcharges to HKD231.

For long-distance routes, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Royal Nepal Airlines, and Aeroflot will raise the surcharges from HKD470 to HKD753, while that of the other airlines will go up to HKD924.
