The event held in two of Beijing's downtown shopping malls have attracted large numbers of citizens to try their luck, the capital based newspaper "The First" reported on Monday.

The shoe is tailored according to the foot size of Lea Salonga, the singer who plays the role of Cinderella in the musical, the newspaper said.

Many people have won their tickets by fitting into the size 38 shoe and others who joined in the activity also got souvenirs such as posters of the musical and autographs of the singers.

The musical will open in the Beijing Exhibition Theatre on October 24th and run until the 29th.
