Fog forces planes to land at Hongqiao Airport
Adjust font size:

Six flights scheduled to land at Shanghai's Pudong International Airport were rerouted to Hongqiao Airport due to heavy fog this morning.

A total of 716 passengers on the flights smoothly passed Customs after frontier inspection stations opened ``Green Passages,'' according to Hongqiao Airport.

The rerouted flights were CA968 from Milan, MU540 from Kuala Lumpur, MU554 from Paris, MU2082 from Cebu City, CA1064 from Osaka and LH8392 from Frankfurt.

Some passengers were inconvenienced as they had connecting flights at Pudong International Airport.

Hongqiao Airport Frontier Inspection Station dispatched a volunteer team with members who could speak English to offer consultation and other information to passengers.

The airport reminded people to arrive earlier than usual for flight as weather conditions can change quickly at this time of year. Travelers can call 5112-0114 in advance for information.
