57,408 flights during the Spring Festival

China Southern plans to offer a total of 57,408 flights during the upcoming Spring Festival period, which represents an increase of 15.5% over the same period of 2008.

It is estimated that China Southern will carry 5.88 million passengers during the coming chunyun, which refers to the extremely high transportation load in China around the time of Chinese New Year, with an average daily load of 147,000, and a peak load of 180,000.

In particular, China Southern will add 5,602 chartered flights. For the popular travel destination Hainan, it will also operate several large aircraft such as Boeing 777 and Airbus 330 in addition to increasing the number of flights. In addition, it will increase the number of round trip flights between Hainan and other major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou by 40%.
