China drops domestic fuel surcharge
Adjust font size:

The National Development and Reform Commission and the Civil Aviation Administration of China have announced that they will suspend the fuel surcharge for domestic flights from January 25, 2009.

NDRC and CAAC say they will decide on whether to resume the fuel surcharge based on the change of the oil price.

The two departments ask the pricing departments at various levels to strengthen on their supervision on aviation transportation pricing and regulate illegal pricing to protect consumers' interests.

NDRC and CAAC announced on December 19, 2008 that the fuel surcharge for Chinese domestic flights would be decreased dramatically from December 25 2008 (based on date of ticket issue).
