Adjust font size:

A plane carrying 21 passengers made an emergency landing in north-west Queensland, a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said on Friday.

She said in Brisbane that emergency services had rushed to Cloncurry airport in the afternoon when a MacAir plane experienced engine problems minutes before landing.

The flight from Townsville to Mount Isa was scheduled to stop at Cloncurry when police received an emergency call at about 5.15 p.m. AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time), according to a report by Australian Associated Press.

It said the 42 seat plane landed a few minutes later.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said no one was injured during the incident.
