Adjust font size:

Budget hotel group Jinjiang Inn says it will join the Earth Hour program initiated by the World Wildlife Fund.

On March 28, 2009, all the 240 plus outlets of Jinjiang Inn will turn off the floodlights outside their outlets. In addition, the hotel will send information cards free of charge to its customers via its official website, calling on these customers to do their bit to protect the earth.

According to a representative from Jinjiang Inn, the hotel will also launch a themed event to increase their environmental awareness by not using the disposable amenities and it will offer the hotel's customers a reward for doing this.

It is understood that this will be the first time that Earth Hour is held in China and Jinjiang Inn is the first budget hotel in China to volunteer to participate in the program.
