Mandarin oriental Sanya holds China roadshow

The newly-opened Mandarin Oriental, Sanya, was recently introduced to the media and corporate bookers at a series of road-shows in Beijing and Shanghai.

The hotel is located on a 12-hectare beachfront site in the sheltered Coral Bay near the city's shopping and entertainment area, Dadonghai.

The resort features a series of private low rise and villa accommodation with ocean views, with some of the units featuring individual pools, patios and gazebos. Facilities include 11 restaurants and bars, an extensive spa village with private treatment suites and gardens, a large recreation center with a dedicated children's area, and over 10,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor conference and banqueting space.

The hotel's 900 square meters of meeting space includes the 525-square-meter Coral Bay Ballroom, which can host up to 450 guests for cocktail reception. Located at the highest point of the resort, the ballroom has panoramic views over the bay below and is equipped with the latest audio-visual systems. There is also a VIP room and an administration office that enjoys the benefit of a separate entrance.

For smaller meetings, there are another five meeting rooms, each of which has natural lighting and views over the landscaped gardens and Coral Bay.

Outdoor team building options range from yoga to water sports, and the resort has an on-site climbing wall for rock climbing and abseiling. For golf enthusiasts, Mandarin Oriental, Sanya, is less than 30 minutes away from three world-class courses in Sanya, and the resort can make golf bookings on behalf of guests.

The 3,200-square-meter spa has eighteen treatment suites include eight single spa suites each equipped with steam shower, oversized outdoor bathtub and rain shower. In addition, there are eight couples' suites and two spacious VIP villas. Connected to the VIP Villas is the Secret Garden featuring al fresco treatment areas and a private bathing house with waterfalls and a whirlpool.
