Adjust font size:

China Southern Airlines Company, one of the largest airline companies in Asia, has set up a branch in Taipei in Taiwan.

China Southern had previously set up an office in Taipei.

According to a China Southern employee working in the Taiwan Branch, the Branch will be able to set up ticket offices in Taiwan while the China Southern Taiwan Office was unable to do that.

China Southern Taiwan Branch currently runs flights from Taiwan to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Shanghai. In September 2009, there will be more destinations in the mainland. In addition the airline is also applying for new air routes.

In late July 2009, Taiwan's economic authorities approved applications from seven mainland airlines to set up branches in Taiwan, including China Southern, Xiamen Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, China Eastern, and Shandong Airlines.
