China will support its growing ocean-related economy with policies, fund allocation, projects and institutional innovation, said Du Ying, vice-minister of the National Development and Reform Commission.

"Ocean-related economy development stands before unprecedented opportunities, as the country is speeding up the transformation of the economic development mode," Du said at the 2011 Qingdao International Blue Economy Summit Forum on Friday.

Shandong Governor Jiang Daming said the blue economy will be a powerful engine for the provincial economic development.
