Qingdao's Xinxing Stadium, the biggest private sports stadium in Shandong Province, greeted the public on Jan. 1 after its three-year revamping by the Qingdao Xinxing Group Company, who invests 130 million yuan (US$21 million) in the project.

Adjacent to the Wanda Plaza in the city's central business district, the oval-shaped stadium is enclosed by a roof resembling two pieces of seashells.

Covering more than 30,000 square meters, the renovated stadium houses a basketball hall, a badminton court, a ping-pong room, a squash court, a tennis court, a billiards hall, a swimming pool, and a gym.

The stadium can accommodate close to 5,000 visitors and has 500 parking spaces above and below ground.
