Young lovers in Qingdao, a coastal city of Shandong Province, rushed to tie the knot on Tuesday in celebration of Valentine's Day.

Long queues of couples formed at marriage registration offices in districts, waiting to get their marriage certificates.

Statistics from the department of civil affairs showed that over 500 couples had registered for marriage in the city by 5:30 pm on Tuesday.
