Qingdao to build international seaside resort

Qingdao, a coastal city in China's Shandong Province, aims to build itself as an international seaside resort, according to the 2012 target of the Municipal Travel and Tourism Administration. Priority will be given to 81 large-scale tourism projects with a total investment of 136 billion yuan (US$ 21.6 billion) in 2012. 81 projects includes 25 leisure projects, 14 cultural tourism projects, 4 marine tourism projects and 24 high-level hotel projects. Through the constriction of such projects, the city strives to make breakthroughs in a variety of tourism products such as vacations, cultural explorations, cruises, catering, shopping and sports.
