Qingdao: May Day traffic peak

Due to the surging number of visitors during the May Day holiday on Tuesday, the passenger transport hubs of the city’s highways, railways and airport saw a traffic peak, at times counting over 134,000 travelers.

Many of the city’s visitors set out on their return journey Tuesday, as it was the last day of this year’s May Day holiday. On this single day, the Qingdao Railway Station saw about 44,000 travelers passing through; the city’s bus stops and stations witnessed a staggering 50,000 people passing through; and, finally, Qingdao Airport dispatched over 40,000 travelers.
