Qingdao to welcome 20 more starred hotels

The Qingdao government is scheduled to build 20 high-end hotels in the city's urban area by 2016, according to the municipal tourist administration.

The municipal government has issued a construction program of travel, resort and conference facilities in a bid to build the city into an international seashore tourist destination and a conference city in northeastern Asia.

According to the program, a total of 8 million square meters of tourism and leisure facilities and 2 million square meters of conference and supporting facilities will be built in the city by 2016, including hot springs, bathing beaches, oxygen bars, theme parks, shopping malls, camping sites and yacht clubs.
