The bathing beaches in coastal city Qingdao are set to re-open to the public on July 1 and be closed on Sept. 25 this year, Qingdao Morning reported.

The No. 1 Bathing Beach, which used to boast the biggest one of the kind in Asia, has prepared for the upcoming peak season. A 3.2-ton sand-casting machine imported from Germany has started its work on the beach to clear cigarette ends, stones and garbage out of the sand.
