A Qingdao delegation led by the city's party chief Li Yun reached a series of deals with European energy and chemical companies during a recent visit to Portugal, Spain, and the Netherlands.
As an open coastal city, Qingdao needs to export the local high-quality capitals as well as to attract foreign investments on the way of upgrading its industrial structure, said Ma Weigang, head of the municipal commission of commerce.
Ma said the city plans to enhance cooperation with European countries in the fields of alternative energy, liquid chemicals, port construction, environmental protection and agriculture.
Europe is a leading manufacturing, research and development base in global chemical industry, registering a 32-percent lion's share of chemical products in the world.
