The Xiangyanghong-9 ship which carries China's manned submersible Jiaolong has returned to port in Qingdao, a coastal city of Shandong province.

China's manned deep-sea submersible Jiaolong has successfully completed its program of deep sea dives, with a sixth and final dive to 7,000 meters in the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean on June 30.

The completed mission marks a giant leap in the development of China's deep-sea exploration technology.

China plans to build its national deep-sea base in eastern Shandong Province. It will be Jiaolong's home base.
