Farmer gets rich from grasshoppers breeding
A young farmer named Yang Liang displays adult grasshoppers he has bred in Qingdao, a coastal city in Shandong province, on August 22. Yang began to breed grasshoppers in 2007. At first, grasshoppers are not welcomed in market and people did not want to even touch them. However, by 2009 the market had taken a turn for the better. His breeding sheds graduated from 5 in 2007 to 25 at present with an annual income of 100,000 yuan. His grasshoppers now are not only sold in domestic markets, but also exported to other countries such as Japan. [Xinhua]
