Mo Yan at the press conference for the dance drama adapted from his novella 'Red Sorghum.'

The Qingdao Opera and Dance Drama Theater will adapt the Chinese Nobel laureate Mo Yan's 1986 novella 'Red Sorghum' into a dance drama.

The theater obtained copyright for the dance drama in 2011. The script for the drama has been written by a famous Chinese dramatist – Wang Yong.

Finding actors for the drama will begin throughout the country and then the practice performance will start.

Mo Yan said at a press conference for the dance drama that the 'Red Sorghum' has been adapted into film and play, and he expected the dance drama would be successful.
