The Qingdao Traffic and Transport Committee has so far accumulatively invested 1.674 billion yuan in railway and railway station construction, according to its spokesman on November 15. These projects will add 400 kilometers of newly-built railway mileage around Qingdao and will realize the target of a so-called one-hour transport economic circle, as well as facilitate connections with surrounding cities.

The Qingdao Traffic and Transport Committee has also added twelve branch bus lines this year for the convenience of some 100,000 residents of the newly constructed residential blocks.
