Qingdao builds Chinese animation ’Dream Works’

Recently, the second stage of the Qingdao PhoenixLand Studios project got underway. It added new force to the animation industry of Qingdao’s economic and technological development zone. The project is set to become the Chinese “Dream Works” in Qingdao.

Qingdao PhoenixLand Studios is the first 3D Animation export base in all of China. Supported by Beijing Film Academy Modern Creative Media College, the project includes high standard digital animation labs, a training center, a post production center, an animation museum and the relevant supporting facilities.

In recent years, the Qingdao economic and technological development zone has adopted a series of fostering policies to encourage the animation industry.

Currently, the animation industry of Qingdao has achieved a concentrated development. As major projects are completed, the production value of related industries will reach 15 billion yuan. According to the plan, in three to five years, Qingdao will construct the cultural creative industry center of Shandong Province.
