Qingdao Forest Wildlife World [898.travel]

Opening its doors to the public in 2003, Qingdao Forest Wildlife World offers both domestic and foreign visitors a relaxed place to enjoy the harmony between mankind and nature, as well as increase their knowledge about the world’s animals. In 2013, the area received more than 300,000 visitors, up 50 percent year-on-year.

It was rewarded a 3A (AAA) level scenic spot level in January of 2008, and now strives at full blast for the honor of 4A (AAAA) level scenic spot.

It invested 8 million yuan (US$1.3 million) to upgrade facilities around the main entrance and parking lots. It also invested 300,000 yuan (US$48,749) to improve restroom facilities. Additionally, it spent 4 million yuan (US$649,942) purchasing many rare animal species such as the flamingo, kangaroo and alpaca, and established several exhibition areas such as the flamingo hall.

In addition, it improved related services, including strengthening the business training of park staff and providing a four languages direction signing system inside the park.
