The second Asian College Golf Tournament will kick off on August 22 in Qingdao, a coastal city in Shandong province.

About 100 athletes from more than 10 countries and regions will compete in the six-day event, which aims to promote the development of golf as a college sport.

The tournament has 4 major events: men's and women's individual events and men's and women's team events.

The Federation of University Sports of China formed a team to participate in the tournament. Its leading members won the team title at the 2013 China Golf Tournament.

The first Asian College Golf Tournament was held in Thailand. All competitors are full-time college students born between Jan. 1, 1986 and Dec. 31, 1996.

The tournament aims to promote the game among college students, encouraging them to learn golf, participate in golf games, and enjoy the sport. Golf will become an Olympic sport at the 2016 games, which will undoubtedly lead to further advancement of the game.
