According to the Scientific Technology Department of State Oceanic Administration, Qingdao Oceanic Emerging Industrial Demonstrative Base is approved to be the National Technology Oceanic Emerging Industrial Base to create a high-tech hatching base and gathering area with the oceanic medical products, oceanographic engineering equipment and oceanic new energy as its core. Besides the base in Qingdao, Xiamen Marine Organism Industrial Demonstrative Base and Guangzhou Nansha New District Technology Oceanic Emerging Industrial Demonstrative Base are also approved. By now, the number of the national oceanic emerging industrial demonstrative bases has increased to 7.

The regional government pays high attention to the adjustment of the oceanic economic construction. The emerging industries of marine organism industry and oceanographic engineering equipment are the leading industries for the government to push forward, who provides special support as well.

The main goal of Qingdao is to push forward the research, development and hatching of the oceanic technology and technical results based on the construction of Qingdao Blue Silicon Valley. More than 120 projects have been attracted to the Blue Silicon Valley, with the total investment amount of about 150.1 billion yuan.
