Panorama of Qingdao Jiaodong Airport

The construction of the Jiaodong New Airport draws the attention of Qingdao citizens. The Project Environment Information Announcement of Qingdao New Airport II was published in the website of Qingdao Environmental Protection Agency on January 15th. The announcement was published by Qingdao International Airport Group Limited Corporation, Civil Aviation of China-Qingdao Air Traffic Management Station, China National Aviation Fuel Group Limited Corporation, China Eastern Airlines and Shandong Airlines. There were more panorama details about the airport this time comparing with the first announcement published in November last year.

The new project shows that the location of the airport is supposed to be in the west coast of Dagu River, which is 39 kilometers away from Qingdao’s center.

The project was approved by the State Council and the Central Military on October 11th, 2014. The project has already entered the specific implementation stage from the early-stage preparations.

At the same time, the ‘Starfish’ plan was also formulated. The first environmental impact assessment for the new airport was made on November 26th, 2014.
