According to the Huangdao Urban Administration, the street lighting improvement work in that area has finished with the installation of more than 1,500 LED lamps. The work brings energy conservation and environment protection, as well as convenience for the citizens at the same time.

Binhai Road is the the Huangdao scenic spot belt and the main road for east-west transportation, especially at night. For a long time, the lamps on each side of the road were high pressure sodium lamps (HPSLs), of which the brightness was not enough. In order to improve the brightness level, the lamp replacing work had started in December last year.

The project ranges from the tunnel entrance in the east to the Zhushan Xiugu in the west, with the total investment of more than 21 million yuan, including 360 watt roadway lamps, 150 watt sidewalk lamps and 240 watt high mast lamps. What’s more, with the policy of energy saving and cycling, the replaced HPSLs were selected by the Huangdao Urban Administration to apply in the 39 non-lighting streets so as to be fully functioned.
