Qingdao received 66 million tourists in 2014

Qingdao has seen a steady growth in tourism industry in 2014. Qingdao has received 66 million tourists at home and abroad, up by 8% year on year. The total tourism income is 106 billion yuan, up by 15%. The scale, quality and benefit of tourism have significantly improved. Qingdao ranks the 13th on the list of Forbes China - top tourism cities of the Chinese mainland which shows the city’s unique charm and bright prospect.

The 139 key tourism projects with investment of 280 billion yuan are going smoothly. Qingdao has promoted the standardization and quality of rural tourism, revised all kinds of rural tourism plan and brought in 20 million yuan of capital input. So far, it has promoted extended innovative value of tourism goods and enriched the tourism goods system.

In Nov. 2014, Qingdao Tourist Administration held the first “Benefiting Citizensby Tourism” and set up 22 associations for benefiting citizens in main scenic spots. It also provided free trips to people such as model workers and sanitation workers. Nearly 500,000 people got benefit from this activity.
