Qingdao provides all-round services to airport construction

In recent days, Qingdao Meteorological Administration just had a meeting with construction unit that builds Jiaodong International Airport about strengthening all-round meteorological support during the construction of airport. They have reached consensus on risk assessment of meteorological disaster, information dissemination in disastrous weather and inspection and acceptance of anti-thunder construction.

As a result of this meeting, construction unit needs to designate a liaison and provide materials for meteorological evaluation. According to the experts, low visibility, fog, haze, thunderstorm, lightning, snows and typhoon can influence the construction. Meteorological department will set up an expert panel to conduct on-site investigations and analyze the data. For delivering information in time, both parties will explore the ways to set up SMS groups and user terminal to make sure message being acceptance in time and quick responses to the disastrous weather.

Jiaodong International Airport will start constructing in 2015 and is expected to be completed in 2019. When it is completed, it will have a passenger throughput of 35 million people andcargo throughputof 500,000 tons. Qingdao Meteorological Administration plays an important role in site selection and preparation work. It also puts forward reasonable advices and provides consultation services.
