The Qingdao United Family Hospital, the first foreign-funded hospital in the eastern coastal city, was inaugurated on April 2 and will officially open to the public in the second half of April.

The hospital, located in Qingdao's Laoshan district, was solely funded by the United Family Healthcare (UFH), the healthcare services division of Chindex International Inc.

After opening, the hospital situated over 20,000 squaremeters will have an international team of more than 20 experienced physicians and 60 nurses.

So far, the UFH has presence in six Chinese cities -- Beijing and Tianjin in the north, Shanghai, Wuxi and Qingdao in the east, and Guangzhou in the south.
