The coastal city of Qingdao in Shandong province came top in a list of the five best summer resorts in July 2015. The list was part of a report recently released by the China Tourism Academy and CMA Public Meteorological Service Center.

The report ranked 60 Chinese summer resorts according to their temperature and tourism development. It included a list for July and August; Qingdao ranked third and 9th respectively.

The reported noted that visitors are paying more attention to diverse, relaxed and safe tourism experiences, rather than the weather of the destinations.

The top 15 summer resorts in July (according to the list) include Kunming, Dalian, Qingdao, Guiyang, Yantai, Harbin, Changchun, Jilin, Hohhot, Lijiang, Datong, Shenyang, Chengde, Qinhuang Island and Xining.

The top 15 summer resorts in August are Kunming, Harbin, Changchun, Dalian, Guiyang, Hohhot, Datong, Yan'an, Qingdao, Chengde, Taiyuan, Jilin, Yantai, Yinchuan and Shenyang.
