Shandong Cultural Heritage Administration will launch an architecture restoration project along the Qingdao-Jinan railway in east China's Shandong Province.

The 112-year-old railway, which is known as the Jiaoji Line, connects coastal city of Qingdao with the provincial capital Jinan, started operation in 1904.

Old railway stations, water towers and bridges will be repaired and named protected sites.

The 384.2-km line was funded by German financiers and its construction project started in 1899.
